The residence of Saud continued to keep its politico-spiritual alliance with the Wahhabi sect through the waxing and waning of its own political fortunes over the following one hundred fifty years, through to its eventual proclamation of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1932, after which afterwards, on into modern times. These days Ibn Abd Al-Wahhab's teachings are the reputable, state-sponsored form of Sunni Islam. Many Sunni and Shia Muslims disagree with the Wahhabi motion.
